This app started as a personal solution to a bureaucratic wall that millions of immigrants in Italy face every year. It is now the only platform that teaches the Italian driving exam in Persian, Arabic, English, Bengali, and Urdu.

How this started

The story behind Driving Freedom

The Beginning

I moved to Italy without speaking Italian fluently.

Like most non-EU immigrants, I didn't think much about my driving license at first. Then the 12-month deadline hit. My Iranian license expired. To drive in Italy, I had to start from zero — theory exam, practical hours, everything.

The Wall

I went to an autoscuola.

They quoted €700 for the theory course. The lessons were in Italian. The instructor was kind but could not explain a single concept in Persian. I sat through two lessons understanding roughly half of what was said. Then I stopped going.

The Hack

I built my own study tool.

Not an app — just a personal system. Italian law on one side, my own Persian notes on the other. I recorded audio for myself. I mapped out the 25 chapters. I drilled the vocabulary. I studied in 10-minute sessions on public transport, in waiting rooms, between work calls.

The Result

3 weeks later, I passed on the first attempt.

Total cost: €150 in official fees. Zero euros to a driving school. I realized I am not special; I just had the technical skills to build my own solution. Most speakers of other languages in Italy do not have that option.

2026 · The Launch

Driving Freedom launched in March 2026.

25 chapters, 17,000+ questions, bilingual teaching system, and an AI tutor. A gamified roadmap so studying feels like progress, not punishment. An exam simulator identical to the real ministry test.

The Impact

Within 45 days: 1000+ downloads.

11 verified exam passes. All 11 studied alone. No autoscuola for the theory portion. All 11 paid about €150 in official fees instead of €500+ at a driving school.
