Topic explanation
It is a danger sign that warns (normally 150 metres in advance) of a symmetrical narrowing, i.e., a narrowing on both sides of the carriageway, with likely difficulty in passing vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
If it has a yellow background, it is placed in the presence of roadworks.
It requires reducing speed and, if necessary, coming to a stop.
The following are prohibited: overtaking, parking, U-turns, and reversing.
Following this sign, the sign 'PRIORITY IN ALTERNATING ONE-WAY TRAFFIC' or 'GIVE WAY IN ALTERNATING ONE-WAY TRAFFIC' may be found.
It is incorrect that it warns of alternating one-way traffic with the obligation to give priority to vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
