Construction and agricultural machinery are self-propelled (capable of moving independently) or towed machines, equipped with rubber wheels or tracks. Self-propelled versions may carry a maximum of three occupants, including the driver, but not standing (not even, and especially, on the trailer). AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY is intended for use in agricultural and forestry activities. They may travel on the road for their own transfer or for the transport of agricultural products, but only if registered. Non-exceptional agricultural machinery (i.e., that which does not exceed the size and weight limits prescribed for motorcycles) may be driven with A1, A2, or A category licenses; exceptional machinery with a B license. CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY includes, for example, snowploughs, snow blowers, vehicles used for the construction of civil or road works, and trolleys for the handling of goods. Non-exceptional versions (i.e., with a weight up to 3.5 tonnes) may be driven with a B license; exceptional versions with a higher license (C).
