THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE BEING OVERTAKEN MUST
Facilitate the overtaking maneuver and not accelerate.
On roads with one lane in each direction, they must keep as close as possible to the right edge.
Not engage in a speed contest with the overtaking vehicle.
If driving a very slow vehicle, they are obliged to stop as soon as possible to allow traffic to flow.
If being overtaken while a vehicle is approaching from the opposite direction, it is advisable to reduce speed and move as close as possible to the right edge of the carriageway.
If an accident occurs while being overtaken, a portion of the liability may be attributed to the driver if they did not do everything possible to facilitate the overtaking maneuver.
It is not true that they are always obliged to reduce their speed or shift to a lower gear to facilitate the overtaking.
