CATEGORY AM DRIVING LICENCE Permits the driving of: two-wheeled mopeds (L1e) with a maximum speed of 45 km/h and a maximum engine capacity of 50 cm³ (for internal combustion engines) or power of 4 kW (for electric motors) three-wheeled mopeds (L2e) with a maximum speed of 45 km/h and an engine capacity of 50 cm³ or power of 4 kW light quadricycles (L6e) with an unladen mass less than or equal to 350 kg, a maximum speed of 45 km/h, and an engine capacity of 50 cm³ or power not exceeding 4 kW To obtain the AM licence, the applicant must be at least 14 years of age; however, driving outside of Italy is not permitted until the age of 16. Passengers may only be carried after the age of 18, and provided that this is permitted by the vehicle's registration certificate.
