Airbag
The airbag is a device consisting of an inflatable cushion made of nylon or other synthetic material. In the event of a road accident involving a violent impact, triggered by a sensor, it expands within a few milliseconds between the occupants and the vehicle structure.
This device can be dangerous if the seat belt is not worn. Therefore, it is not true that if the vehicle is equipped with front and side airbags, the seat belt does not need to be fastened.
The device cannot function when the ignition key is not inserted and may sometimes be deactivated.
It is not true that it must be inflated periodically to verify its efficiency or that it can be calibrated.
In vehicles equipped with an airbag featuring a deactivation control, before placing a child seat (with the backrest facing the windshield) on the front seat, the airbag must be deactivated.
If a car is equipped with an airbag, children may be transported on the front seat secured in a suitable child seat only if the vehicle is equipped with a control to deactivate the airbag.
BUT PLEASE NOTE, THE FOLLOWING QUIZ STATEMENT IS ALSO TRUE:
In vehicles that are not equipped with a control to deactivate the passenger-side airbag, a child seat must not be placed on the front seat with the backrest facing the road.
