CHEST TRAUMA
This may involve fractures of the ribs or the sternum, potentially aggravated by lung injuries.
The casualty experiences severe difficulty breathing; therefore, it is necessary to:
attempt to facilitate their breathing by placing them in a semi-seated position
prevent them from eating or drinking and provide assistance until medical help arrives
If there is a visible and deep wound, apply immediate pressure with a clean cloth without attempting to clean, disinfect, or dress the injury.
